There's a long-standing belief in ghost hunting that infrared night vision and full-spectrum cameras allows you to glimpse into this unseen reality. However, it's important to understand that cameras and eyes work in very similar ways. Both need light to create an image, and both rely on reflected light bouncing off solid objects.

IR night vision only works because the camera is actively lighting the scene with infrared illumination, or in the case of full-spectrum cameras, infrared, ultraviolet, or visible light depending on the lighting setup used.
