After looking at orbs in the previous lesson, this section shifts the focus away from those circular, out-of-focus artefacts and looks instead at the wider range of ways dust, moisture and insects can alter photographs and video during an investigation. These particles don't just create orbs - they also cause hazes, veils, streaks, smears, distorted glows and movement effects that are often mistaken for something more meaningful. Understanding these patterns helps you distinguish environmental artefacts from genuinely unusual visuals.

Even when dust doesn't create a classic orb, it can still appear as:• Patchy soft areas that look like faint mist.• Diffuse glows that seem to hang in the air.• Clusters of brightness created when several particles catch the light at once.
